Jess + Connor - A Candlelit Autumn Intimate Wedding

20 Guests - All inclusive Wedding in Commons

All Photography by Sophie Patricia Photography

There are weddings that are big and loud and wonderful. And then there are weddings like Jess and Connor’s - where every single person in the room is someone who truly matters, and the whole day feels like the best dinner party you’ve ever been to.

On a golden autumn afternoon in the Hunter Valley, Jess and Connor said their vows beneath the ornamental pear tree on the lawn at Leaves & Fishes. It’s canopy, lush and full above them, formed a natural cathedral - dressed simply in a nest of white and green flowers that felt like they had grown there.

Twenty guests. The ones who actually matter.

After the ceremony, the couple made their way to the stone champagne fountain - because there is simply no better way to toast a marriage - before leading their guests into the rainforest walk for cocktail hour. Beneath the tropical canopy, with canapés circling and glasses clinking, the celebration took on the easy, unhurried quality that only a small gathering can produce. No one was a stranger. No one was watching the clock.

As the evening settled, the party moved to the Colonnade - a long table, candlelight, and the kind of dinner that stretches well past dessert because nobody wants it to end. The night finished the way all great weddings should - with dancing in the Commons, flat shoes on, music up, the people you love most around you.

Jess and Connor chose our all-inclusive midweek package, which meant every detail was handled from the moment they arrived to the moment they left. The florals, the catering, the photography, the styling - all curated and coordinated, so the only thing they had to do on the day was be present.

All the luxuries of a big wedding. All the intimacy of your closest people. That’s what a micro wedding at Leaves & Fishes looks like.
